INCLUSION

“According to the annual Active Lives Survey, 48.9% of people with disabilities in the West Midlands are inactive.” – West Midlands Combined Authority, 2018

Making golf more inclusive to everyone is part of what we do, and we are already hard at work making this happen!

Community Groups

We are already working closely with a local community group called Special Olympics – Sandwell. Golf gives this SEN group a welcome opportunity to get outside to take part in a fun and active sport for 1 hour each week on a Tuesday. We will be actively seeking new community groups with disabilities that would like to try a new sport – there may be funding that we can apply for certain age groups in this bracket too.

Schools and Further Education

We are working with a couple of schools in the Birmingham and West Midlands area to offer their SEN pupils the opportunity to experience golf and its benefits. This offer comes in the form of regular PE curriculum sessions, as well as extracurricular clubs.
